Mindfulness - Bloom with your Mind
Mindfulness is a subject that has been studied for centuries and is the most difficult trait to implement due to its mysterious air. Thousands of books and courses are offered to the student of mindfulness and meditation, yet, it remains as a challenge. The most frequent question is, “How do you remain mindful in a demanding environment?”
To be mindful requires a certain degree of concentration where the mind is focused on the infinite energy of stillness. This state of mind has become infrequent in the twenty-first century due to the number of distractions and persistent noise offered by the media, entertainment, politics, and technology. Many people purchase stillness in the forms of meditation trips and ashrams due to their inability to concentrate the mind.
Mindfulness can be achieved by listening and understanding the thought patterns in the mind. Most beings repeat statements in the mind while performing several actions. The person becomes deaf to the statements of the mind while being extremely busy; thus, the mind is trapped in endless chatter. Another case is that the being is endlessly chatting in his or her mind without being able to stop. The discussion of the mind is usually pessimistic, painful and/or on-going, and any attempt to stop stresses the psyche since the addiction to mental chatter is vigorous. The stress from the mental discussion causes the being to seek help through drugs and alcohol to calm the nerves down.
The indisposed mind suffers from exhaustion consistently and the person can only heal the mind by retraining it diligently. Therefore, mindfulness becomes a meditation practice that must be taught to the mind. In order to train the mind, the soul must be willing to come into power and interested in healing. When the mind is chattering incessantly, the soul becomes despondent; hence, the body is under the control of the ego. A certain awakening is needed for the soul to lead the body. This happens through an event that changes one’s life completely. When the event occurs, the soul realizes that it is ailing and needs to heal the darkness in the ego with love. The healing process takes time and requires careful study of the self, which is why most people give up on meditation. Most individuals do not have a working relationship with themselves. Therefore, mindless chatter is a symbolic form of running away from your true, authentic self.
To become mindful, you are required to have an intimate, compassionate relationship with yourself. The first step is to accept that you are mentally unwell. It is through acceptance that cooperation can occur between mind, body and soul, and it is through compassion that the soul and mind can have a loving relationship. Most often, when the student is learning mindfulness, frustration, shame, guilt and need for perfection annihilate the first steps, which are the most important steps. The student gives up and looks for band-aid solutions, but it is only through being non judgemental can you move forward with the process.
The second step is to rewire the thoughts of the mind without feeling the need to control them. A certain degree of gentleness and patience is required for the student to feel safe to do this. As the student proceeds and is willing to get to know his or her thought pattern, he or she begins to feel more secure in his or her own mind. The unwillingness to observe the mind means that the student feels insecure with him or herself. The student needs to feel willing to find light in all events of his or her life, including observations of the external world.
In order to shift perception, the student must be aware of the perceived situation that he or she is in and the thoughts that he or she has about the situation. Concentration must shift from judgement to non judgemental thoughts; thus, only then can personal frequency shift from a negative to a loving vibration. Healing of the mind occurs when the student purposefully chooses love over anger, resentment and/or hate over and over again. The mindful selection of thoughts assists the student to increase his or her vibration to a loving one; hence, changing the external world to an even better environment.
